Dundal Foundation
Engineering for the public interest.
Our pro bono arm directs our technical capabilities toward digital inclusion, education, AI literacy, and community-centered infrastructure.
Why the Foundation exists
“Not because it’s required.
Because it matters.”
We believe technology should not exclusively serve enterprise contracts. The Foundation is our mechanism for investing engineering hours, design thinking, and capital back into the community. If there is a civic problem that software or training can help solve, the Foundation steps in.
Dundal Foundation operates under Dundal Systems. Every commercial engagement supports the capacity for meaningful public-interest work. The two are not in tension — they reinforce each other.

Technology built
for inclusion.
Classrooms, communities, and institutions across The Gambia.
Focus Areas
Where we direct our energy
AI Literacy
We conduct pro-bono workshops and develop open frameworks to demystify AI, ensuring the public understands both the utility and the bounds of new tools.
Mental Health Advocacy
We deploy campaign infrastructure and platforms to support awareness efforts, linking critical care information with broader public outreach.
Inclusion & Accessibility
We investigate and advocate for accessibility standards, exploring how screen readers, specialized formats, and local language models can cross the digital divide.
Civic Spaces
We treat libraries and learning centers as crucial hardware. We support the modernization of public spaces to ensure everyone has access to a terminal and a connection.
Digital Skills
We run structured training programmes for community groups, students, and public sector workers — focused on practical computing, data literacy, and safe internet use.
Local Language Tech
We invest in research and tooling around Wolof, Mandinka, and other local languages — because technology that doesn't speak your language doesn't fully serve you.
Foundation Work
Selected initiatives
One team, two mandates
Dundal Systems builds the platforms for institutions. Dundal Foundation builds the platforms for the public. Both rely on the same engineering rigor and practical philosophy.
